Meet Les (aka Les Wittekind)
Les Wittekind
Les grew up on Long Island, NY. Early in his life he had a keen interest in magic. He and his friend Jimmy performed magic shows in Les' basement to the amusement of his friends. They would travel to Lou Tannen's Magic Store in the city to buy effects he could afford on a paper boy's earnings. He attended NYS University and worked as a test engineer at Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage. Les and his wife Gracie have three lovely daughters. In 1998, Les and Gracie moved to Aurora, Illinois. He continued his interest in sports, refereeing softball, baseball, basketball and football, and of course he continued to perform magic shows!
He is a member of the Society of American Magicians (SAM) and The Fellowship of Christian Magicians (FCM). Les and Grace were featured on the cover and in the Jan/Feb 2014 issue of VOICE Magazine, the official publication of FCM. Les also attends several magic conventions each year where he has given lectures on magic ideas, and has performed on the evening programs. He continues to find and learn new effects to better his skills and ability to bring enjoyment to his audiences.
Les has traveled to Moscow, Russa twice where he performed at schools and orphanages and brought them much happiness. He has also gone to Slovakia three times to perform magic programs each day for the adults and children at an english camp in Nitra. Les continues to delight and amaze his audiences with his performances at birthday parties, pre-schools, retirement homes, senior citizen groups, Boy Scouts, Blue and Gold Dinners and various other events and Church functions.
Gracie is now Les' assistant. It has been fun for them to work together. They enjoy meeting many different folks in many varying venues. They would enjoy performing at your next event!
